ELUTAX “3”: Drug-Coated Balloon with Proprietary Coating Technology
The ELUTAX “3” has been developed for the treatment of passage strictures, with design features that allow application in various anatomical settings as defined in the Instructions for Use. Please note that indications can vary between countries, due to different single registrations.
During the procedure, the balloon is inflated, and the pressure flattens the stenosis against the walls of the conduit. This physical dilatation aims to improve perfusion through the treated vessel.
The balloon is coated with 2.2 µg paclitaxel/mm² as the active substance, and 0.7 µg dextran/mm² is used as an excipient to support drug uptake.
